My approach

I approach health coaching with a holistic lens, starting with what’s known as the primary food group. Are you feeling nourished off the plate—through your relationships, friendships, career, and work-life balance? Understanding the state of these areas is the first step toward real, lasting transformation.

From there, we’ll move on to the secondary food group—what’s actually on your plate. We’ll explore your dietary concerns, identify what adjustments might help, and create a plan that works with your metabolism and lifestyle. I’ll help you gently crowd out cravings and support you in building habits that feel right for you and are sustainable.

Primary Food

The concept of primary food refers to food that nourishes you off the plate. Are you happy in your current relationship? Do you love your career or does it wear you out? Do you cook at home? All of these primary foods play a crucial role in determining your overall health. We’ll use the Circle of Life tool to assess your existing state of wellbeing and figure out where you need extra support.

Secondary Food

The concept of secondary food refers to actual food that we eat. The best way you can nourish yourself is by choosing nutritious, organic, colorful whole foods to fill your plate. I always pick seasonal fruits and vegetables and source organic or hormone free products from the local markets. You can support your local farmers by joining a Community Agriculture Association (CSA) and get connected to your food and where it comes from. You could also join a community garden or plant a small garden in your backyard or on your balcony.

Crowding out

Crowding out means adding healthy foods to your diet. Instead of eliminating and starving, you are encouraged to add nutritious options such as leafy greens, lean protein and colorful vegetables. By eating more nutrient dense food, you will crave less unhealthy snacks and guilty pleasures, like this cake! Crowd out and replenish your body with self care, love and control over your cravings.
