Ahi Tuna Salad with Sesame Soy Dressing
I just had the best ahi tuna salad ever! Thank you Dinner at the Zoo for giving me the inspiration to create this! I tweaked the recipe to work with what I have and here it is!
The key to this salad is obviously the tuna! Thank you Costco. I buy all my fish and meats from Costco, whether in Miami or Toronto. The selection is simply the best. This tuna is already made - all you have to do is thaw it (it’s frozen), slice and serve. If you have fresh tuna that needs to be cooked, I suggest the Dinner at the Zoo recipe for making ahi tuna
Here’s this easy peasy recipe, salad made in 20 minutes and feeds a family of three (plus a doggy who eats the cabbage!)
Here’s what you need:
2 Ahi Tuna Steaks - thawed
1/4 of a small cabbage
1 package of arugula leaves
2 carrots
2 cucumbers
Sesame oil
Sesame seeds
Soy Sauce
Honey
Instructions:
Place the arugula greens on each plate.
Slice up the cabbage and divide it amongst 3 plates.
Wash and peel the carrots. Grate carrots over each plate individually.
Wash and peel the cucmbers. Slice them up and distribute amongst the 3 plates, on top of the carrots.
Carefully distribute the tuna steaks over each plate. With two steaks - its about 4-6 pieces per plate.
Make the dressing:
Combine 1.5 table spoons of sesame oil, 2 table spoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds and 1/2 teaspoon of honey. Stir it really well until the sauce is diluted and very thin consistency.
Pour the dressing over the ahi tuna salad and serve!
